What is TSA PreCheck with Volaris?

In Volaris we want to give you the best travel experience from the moment you arrive at the airport until you reach your destination. That’s why we joined TSA PreCheck program, which allows passengers who are trusted travelers by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to pass through security checkpoints quicker and easier.


With TSA PreCheck you get all these benefits

  • You don´t need to remove your shoes, belt or jacket
  • Liquids of up to 3.4 oz and laptops stay in your carry-on


Who is elegible to apply for TSA PreCheck?


If you are a United States citizen or permanent resident, you are elegible for the TSA Pre✓® Application Program. You just have to fill out the TSA online application, pay the related fee ($85 USD) and go through an in-person background check. If approved, you will enjoy the benefits for five years. At the end of the term, you can apply again for a renewal. 

If your are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you can still be elegibe to get TSA Pre✓® on your boarding pass through one of the others Trusted Traveler Programs, like Global ENTRY, NEXUS or SENTRI. For more information, please go to  DHS website


How to use it with Volaris?

If you are traveling from any airport where we operate in the United States to our destinations in Mexico or Central America and you are member of a Trusted Traveler Program, just enter your Known Traveler Number (KTN) or  PASS ID (Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS) when booking your flight or at the time of your check-in.

Either way, you should see the TSA PRE text or the TSA Pre✓® logo displayed on your boarding pass.




Keep in mind

In order to get TSA Pre® on your boarding pass, you must enter your name and last name as they appear on your passport when booking your flight or at the time of your check-in.
